If the MWg handset you see here rings a proverbial bell, that's probably because you've seen it before. This particular MWg-branded handset is basically a TechFaith Wireless-sourced UBiQUiOS 503G with an MWg logo slapped on the front.
Coming off parent company O2 Asia's demise, MWg is prepping to offer a new pair of QWERTY-toting Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional handsets. This time around, MWg has taken to simply re-branding handsets rather than coming up with their own, unique jobbies. The lower-end offering from MWg will be based on the UBiQUiO 501 - and will be should be known as the MWg UBiQUiO 501 (quite creative). It's been a while since we last heard of the UBiQUiO 501, but you may recall that the WM6-powered handset sports a tri-band (900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM radio, 200Mhz OMAP750 CPU, 2 megapixel camera, and WiFi radio. Unfortunately, there's no 3G in store for this handset.
And, to balance things out a bit, MWg will be offering a re-branded take on the UBiQUiO 503G - the MWg UBiQUiO 503G. With quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900Mhz), tri-band (850/1900/2100Mhz) HSDPA, Intel Xscale 530Mhz CPU, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and WiFi, the MWg version of the UBiQUiO 503G should be just as impressive as the original. It's been quite a while since we've heard of the 503G, but if there's one thing that never gets old, it's 3.6Mbps HSDPA.

Again with the network-shutdown threats. Indian government officials have again threatened to flip the off-switch on RIM's BlackBerry network in India if RIM doesn't hand over backdoor access to its encrypted email network.
India's Department of Telecom has given RIM a 15-day ultimatum - “open up your encrypted network to our spooks or say bye-bye to your BlackBerry hopes in India.” After previous reports that the Indian government and RIM were working things out and that a BlackBerry ban was no longer a threat, India's DoT has flipped an about-face and is making the prospect of a CrackBerry-free India a serious possibility.
Apparently, Telecom Minister A Raja isn't willing to risk national security just to give a few (hundred thousand) BlackBerry users access to push email.
This could be bad news for RIM. They either have to give in and risk their integrity or they lose the burgeoning Indian BlackBerry market indefinitely. We'll keep a close eye on these happenings…

There's nothing we like more than an open-source platform. A community of like-minded individuals working to make a platform work for them, the way they want, is just cool.
So, what's up with the current spate of employee desertions? We're hearing that, over the past few weeks, Nokia's Maemo group has seen four employees involved with the World wide web Tablet platform taking an indefinite leave of absence. It's safe to state that the Maemo platform will still be chugging along on Nokia 770, N800, and N810 Internet Tablets, but what's the large picture here?
Is Nokia planning to go a different route with their open-source plans? Or are these guys just fatigued of working with Maemo?
In either case, we're just going to wait on the WiMAX Nokia N810 to hit at CTIA.

According to sources close to Microsoft, the official Windows Mobile 6.1 launch is set to coincide with the April Fools' day. However, you should know April 1st is also significant in other sense as the first day of CTIA Wireless, so this may happen after all. Knowing this, it will be hard to differentiate between real and “funny” news. We'll try to keep up…
Back to the subject. The WinMo update is pretty much designed as a temporary solution before Windows Mobile 7 is officially rolled out. And that could wait, I tell ya'.
In the meantime, version 6.1 will do the job just as well, with such improvements as cleaner UI (less mess on the screen), new homescreen, task manager, copy/paste in Pocket World wide web Explorer, and more.

What we have here is Samsung's short teaser video made only for one purpose - to annoy us. Well guys you succeeded, you're showing us a cool device which we still can't have. That's at least those of us not living in South Korea.
Apparently, the device filmed on a video bellow wears the SCH-W420/W4200 mark and apart from the big, haptic feedback enabled 3.2 inch touchscreen, also sports a lively UI which support widgets on the homepage (looks like it's TouchWiz), and a terrestrial broadcast Television receiver. We're not sure whether the internet browsing experience can match the one we’ve on the iPhone, but something tells us Sammy knows that he's doing.
C'mon folks release the damn thing outside of your domestic market, we can't wait for CTIA or any other event… And the video follows after the break. Enjoy!
