Truphone announced that it is in the process of acquiring SIM4travel's assets — including infrastructure, customer base, distribution and staff in Portugal and London — with an idea to finish its “GSM core network” and move beyond low-cost WiFi calls.
The buy means that Truphone will acquire both SIM4travel's travel SIM capability and its Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE) platform. Integration of SIM4travel's assets into Truphone's own portfolio will begin immediately and take several months to complete.
To put it in other words - Truphone is preparing to launch a single, worldwide, Truphone SIM that would allow users to make cheap phone calls even when they're out of WiFi zone. No dates were given, only the mystical “soon.” We're watching closely…

Back in January, we talked about Vivendi's plans to release a mobile game based on the popular Television series Prison Break. The game is scheduled for June release and while you're waiting, we got new bits of information and first screenshots to help you along the way…
The game finds you in the midst of the first season and it's your job to lead Michael Scofield through 36 maps across 12 different environments. All elements of the prison breaking story are in the game, including prison rioting and tunnel digging. It's an adventure game, meaning you'll find yourself wandering around speaking with other inmates, solving puzzles, collecting and eventually using all kinds of items.
From what we can tell, it will be a hit. And it's one more reason to look forward to the summer.

Mobicue is a recently launched microblogging service that, like other similar services, has a mobile component. Whether it's a text, an image or video, users can add it either via web, email or through the dedicated mobile client. Once the file is on Mobicue's servers, you can share it with others using SMS, email or chat (Yahoo, MSN, AIM). There's also the other side of the coin that grants you to follow other people's stuff, just like on Twitter or Jaiku.
Finally, to get some love among the Apple crowd, Mobicue launched the iPhone optimized version. Apple's handset users don't get the dedicated app, rather they browse around via Safari and send their pics and texts via email.
