Skyfire is officially launching its awesome web browser for Symbian S60 based devices. As you’re probably aware, with Skyfire browser you can enjoy Flash video and AJAX based service without having to launch a separate application. For one thing, Google Maps works perfectly on Skyfire.
And now the ideal part - we got 50 beta codes to share. Here are the rules how to get them:
- You must have a Symbian S60 smartphone
- Only U.S. citizens can apply (we’re sorry, those are the rules provided by Skyfire)
- You need to leave a comment to this post with your email address
During the weekend, I’ll send out the instructions and beta codes to the first 50 people who leave a comment and leave their email. That’s it!
UPDATE: Skyfire beta codes were sent out! We’re sorry for some of you who haven’t received it, I’m sure Skyfire will make its browser a public beta soon. As for the “U.S. only” rule (we got a question regarding that), my guess is that it’s the question of servers (location), which parse the data (web pages) prior to sending them to users. This isn’t official, though, just my guess.

We’ve talked about this back in June. Following the iPhone release, many people realised they could benefit from the visual voicemail. Verizon and Sprint saw its chance and started working on it. Sprint users can already use the service through such handsets as Samsung Instinct. Verizon subscribers, on the other, still wait for the carrier to unleash its offering…
That has just changed with the carrier launching its visual voicemail service. At this moment, only a single handset is supported, LG Voyager, but we’re sure Verizon will bring all the glory of VVM to other phones as well. In the meantime, if you own a revamped version of the LG Voyager, aka Voyager Refresh, hop over to this page at Verizon’s website and take it from there.

MGM has just announced it’s first big agreement with Vodafone Germany. The MGM Channel, which is currently a German-language channel on Pay Television in Europe, is now going to be available through Vodafone.
The MGM Channel is available on the 3G Vodafone Live! network in Germany, offering movies from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film library - including films from the Pink Panther and Rocky franchises, as well as The Thomas Crown Affair, Terminator, Man in the Iron Mask and Robocop, among many others.
Vodafone have about six million subs with video capable handsets, and currently offer over 40 channels, in addition to an EPG, and free TV reminders over SMS.
