Is Pikmin 2 getting the ‘New Play Control!’ treatment for Wii?Posted by admin in Gaming News
This March, Nintendo will be introducing the first in its series of GameCube remakes for the Wii, under their “New Play Control!” branding. First up will be New Play Control! versions of both Mario Power Tennis and Pikmin, both sporting Wii-specific controls for the re-release. Wii MotionPlus? I saw a silly demo of the three-dimension-sensing Wii accessory at E3 earlier this year, but not much else after that. It’s still coming, and apparently Nintendo has increased orders for the gyroscope, a part of this upcoming add-on. Digitimes says that they’ve sent along extra money to component maker InvenSense, asking for increased shipments. They state that this is an indication of growth for Nintendo, despite the weak economy. It sounds like Nintendo has high hopes for this accessory with these extra orders for parts. And for what? Wii Sports Resort (shown above)? I wonder what else they’ve up their sleeves for the peripheral’s Spring 2009 release. source Destructoid Cloud computing takes off in 2008, with enterprise companies and consumers along for the ride. source Tech news blog Cloud computing takes off in 2008, with enterprise companies and consumers along for the ride. source Tech news blog A few did superior than a year ago, most held steady while a few did worse-not the sort of scorecard you want to see during a recession source Tech news blog

Wii Shop releases: Maboshi’s Arcade, Cue Sports, Zoda’s RevengePosted by admin in Gaming News
Nintendo is ringing in the new year with — you guessed it — two WiiWare games and one Virtual Console title hitting the Wii Shop this day. Always keeping us on our toes! Maboshi’s Arcade (Nintendo, 1-3 players, 800 Wii Points) is a pinball-influenced puzzler that comes bundled with three flavors: Circle Mode, Stick Mode, and Square Mode. While the goal of each is to reach a million points, the three modes are played different. In Circle Mode, you’ll bash enemies; in Stick Mode, you’ll maneuver a stick up-screen; and in Square Mode you’ll burn through a maze. The 800 Wii Points price tag for what seems like such a “simple game” sounds a bit steep; fortunately, the game hit Europe and Japan months ago. If you’ve already picked this one up, let us know what you think. |
