Nintendo toying with new motion-sensing tech screenshot

They say they aren’t. Actually, Nintendo states that recent rumors are “purely rumour and speculation,” according to Edge.

Tech-On in Japan heard differently:

Nintendo has been evaluating samples obtained from a number of acceleration sensor manufacturers other than ST and ADI, according to sources. Kionix Inc, a US-based venture firm, once attracted attention as a strong candidate.

Of course, these could just be samples of motion-sensing tech that does the same thing as the current ones Nintendo uses. They might just be checking out new suppliers. I think anyone would kill to get a opportunity to be the supplier for something that goes inside a Wii remote.

Edge was told that a Nintendo spokesperson denies that their controllers would see any kind of internal upgrade, though.

Madworld offers 'Blood Bath Challenges' for the multiplayer-hungry screenshot

Those of us disenchanted with the Wii’s lack of “mature” titles have surely got a bone in the pants for Platinum Games’ upcoming gorefest Madworld. Described as a game wrapped around the concepts of brutality and exhilaration, I’ve to admit I’ve no idea how this title ever got approved to appear on the family-friendly Wii.

I have to admit I never even wondered if the game would have multiplayer (but being more of a solo gamer, I don’t really pay any mind to these things), but it looks like people fiending to share the bloodshed with a friend can look forward to it in the form of “Blood Bath Challenges”, which are mentioned on the official website.

Looks like I’m finally going to be dusting off my Wii and giving it some serious time soon .. and I have the ability to invite a friend to the celebration!

Billy Bob Thornton, Dennis Hopper lending their voices to THQ's Deadly Creatures screenshot

While THQ’s Wii-exclusive Deadly Creatures won’t be seeing any love at retail until next year, the game has caught the attention of at least two high-profile Hollywood actors. THQ has announced that Billy Bob Thornton (Sling Blade, the guy who inexplicably got into Angelina Jolie’s pants) and Dennis Hopper (Blue Velvet, Simple Rider, maybe being f**king crazy) will be lending their voices to the game, which ships in February of 2009.
