Wii pole dancing game struggling to find publisher screenshot

Good people of America, we face a national emergency, the likes of which has not been seen since 9/11 — Peekaboo Pole Dancing does NOT have a publisher for its Wii game.

The company, known for its Carmen Electra-branded poledancing kit — The Electrapole — announced its plans to bring this time-honored tradition to Wii consoles across the nation earlier this year. MTV’s Tracey John is a huge fan of female degradation and visits all manner of illicit sex houses frequently, so she caught up with Peekaboo Pole Dancing to see how their game is getting on.

Word Jong Party designer Scott Balaban screenshot

This week, Destineer ships Magellan Interactive’s Word Jong Celebration for the Wii to retail. A follow up to the successful Word Jong on the Nintendo DS, Word Jong Celebration adds new multiplayer modes, power-ups that take advantage of the Wii motion controls, and updated visuals.

We loved Word Jong on the DS, its simple and addictive design came highly suggested when we ran our review for the game last year. So when we heard there was an updated version coming to the Wii, we hunted down the game’s designer Scott Balaban to see what it was all about.

Nintendo changes 'Play on Wii' to 'New Play Control!' for North America screenshot

Japan just got its first batch of Play on Wii titles — the classic Nintendo GameCube games refitted for the Wii — earlier this month. Today, Nintendo has officially announced some of those titles for a North American release, with a small change.

Activision trademarks 'Blur,' we speculate and it's ridiculous screenshot

It appears Activision’s trademark gnomes are on the move, as the publisher just filed for trademark of “Blur” on December 10 in connection with “computer game software.”

While we’d like to think that this is a Guitar Hero game centered around the English substitute rock band, that’s quite unlikely. Considering that they barely have enough hit singles to populate a “track pack,” we highly doubt that. It could, however, be a third-person shooter featuring Blur singer Damon Albarn, powered by Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare engine.

Or it could be a game where the main character runs really fast … Or it could be a racing game, because “Blur” sounds like a pretty good name for a racing game … Or it could be …

Hell, you tell us. If “Blur” actually does become a videogame product, what could it be?

CID the Dummy announced for PSP, PC and Wii, sounds humorous screenshot

Oxygen games has today announced CID the Dummy for Personal computer, PSP and Wii, an action platformer with a slightly satirical bent.

Set in a world where people have become so unwilling to accept responsibility for anything that all products need to be safety-tested in triplicate, CID tells the story of the Crash Impact Dummy, a device that has become crucial in the new age of avoiding lawsuits.

Star Wars custom Wii is for the rich nerd who needs to squander money screenshot

I’ve seen some cool custom Wiis out there, and I’ve shared quite a few with you here on the pages of Dtoid. I’ve to admit this Star Wars one is pretty smokin, but when you get to the price, all those feelings just kind of stop in their tracks. At $499.99 (and its listed on Ebay, so that’s a starting bid), it just seems like a hell of a mark up, despite the work that obviously went into it.

On the other hand, it seems the average custom console has quite a pricetag — the Yoshi Wii I linked above retailed for close to the same price. Gamers want cool stuff, but most gamers don’t have that kind of cash handy (especially not after all the cool games this season!). Then again, I don’t live and breathe the Force — if that’s your thing, would you throw down that cool 500 to get this very special mod?
