Exclusive: New tune for Mechos Wars WiiWare, art for MW 2010 screenshot

The Luc Bernard show keeps rolling on this day, now with an exclusive track from upcoming WiiWare port of Mechos Wars. I was going to download the game on the Wii regardless because I don’t own an iPhone. This airy, synth tune will just be the icing on the cake. Hit the jump to take a listen to it. It’s sounds awfully… expensive. The song probably cost more to produce than some WiiWare games.

It's real! Hudson officially announces The Calling for Wii screenshot

A few months back, promising-looking footage for a horror game called The Calling popped up on YouTube. It was ripped down rather swiftly, however, and Hudson claimed that while the game was a real one they were working on, that the footage was stolen from them. It was a bit of a fiasco, and for a while there was no word of the game (much to my great disappointment).

You can imagine, then, that I was ecstatic to see that Famitsu has announced the game is officially coming for Wii. Apparently the game is about 70 percent complete and you use a cell phone in the game to receive calls, send and receive texts and record audio. From the photos we can guess that some of the characters include a trip of schoolgirls, a mysterious older man and a young girl. There’s also speak that th egame might be on rails, although not isn’t confirmed.

No word on whether the game will see an US release or not, but I think it’s possible. Would you want this game if it came out here, or do you need more information to decide?

Suda 51 wants Travis Touchdown in Smash Bros. screenshot

He might not have set the world on fire with No More Heroes, but game designer and nutbag Goichi Suda wants Travis Touchdown in the next Super Smash Bros. game. Hoping to make Touchdown a big videogame star in his own right, Suda would love to see the nerdsome assassin duking it out with Mario and the gang.

“I love him, and I want him to be a big star,” Suda tells Nintendo Power. “That’s why I’m working very hard to make this game as interesting as possible. Maybe in the future, we can see him fighting alongside Link in the next Smash Bros. [laughs] That would be great.”

As a massive fan of Suda 51, I would like to see each wish of his come true. Considering Suda’s close friendship with Hideo Kojima, whose very own Solid Snake was in Brawl, we could perhaps see this particular dream become a reality. Mainstream Wii owners probably wouldn’t have the first clue who he’s, but you can guarantee that he’d be a popular fixture among the hardcore set.
