Surely, everyone saw this coming: Nintendo has revelaed that Wii Sports Resort is a ridiculously large success.

The publisher has revealed that since its June 26 launch, over 1 million duplicates of the game have been sold in the United Says. Oh, and in Japan and Europe each, more than 1 million copies of Wii Sports Resort have been sold as well. This shouldn’t be too surprising, as the game ships with the exciting new Wii MotionPlus peripheral that everyone just has to have. Oh, and the words “Wii Sports” are so popular that appending them to pretty much anything would result in a sales explosion (i.e. Wii Sports Colonoscopy is trademark just waiting to happen).

It helps that the collection of games, including Swordplay and archery, are actually pretty damned good. Were you one of the 1 million Wii Sports Resort sales?
