Arkanoid making a comeback on WiiWare screenshot

Square Enix and Taito are have updated the classic Arkanoid for WiiWare. Arkanoid Plus! will have multiplayer, co-op, arcade mode, time mode, 122 levels and tons of upgrades and power-ups. There’s no release date yet, but anticipate it “soon.”

Arkanoid type games are some of my favorite. These type of games relax me more so than any other game out there and I view them as Zen type gaming. Sure, sometimes there’s a ton of stuff happening on the screen, but I never get excited or frantic when it happens.

New No More Heroes 2 trailers are over 24 hours old screenshot

What do you do when you’re a professional blogger JOURNALIST and you encounter something that you think is really cool, but you know that it’s already days old? Do you ignore it, preventing the blog-o-sphere from accusing you of being a bad internet citizen, or do you brace yourself for the “welcomed to yesterday, @22H07E!” comments, and just go for it?

I think it depends on how cool the “something” in question is. In this case, it’s three trailers for No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle. Two of these videos focus on the game’s heartwarming 8-bit jobs segments, and the last culminates with a sexy black (or Japanase?) woman with a white afro talking trash to a decapitated man’s head. She’s so pissed at this head that she’s actually threatening it after she’s already removed it from its body.

Yeah, I think that’s worth posting, especially since I just found these “old” videos in a higher quality format than previouslty available. Hey, you don’t take my word for it. Hit the jump and decide for yourself if this post deserves to exist.

TGS 09: Frank West, Tekkaman Blade TvC gameplay videos screenshot

YES. After being leaked a few weeks ago, it was officially confirmed yesterday that Frank West will be playable in the upcoming Tatsunoko Vs Capcom: Ultimate All Stars, much to our delight. We got a quick peek at a few of his moves in the opening video that accompanied that announcement, but only a peek.

Now, thankfully, we’ve got a direct-feed video of a full round of gameplay to show you. Here you’ll get a good look at what to expect, and I gotta say, some of Frank’s attacks are looking pretty vicious. His move list looks to be inspired by Shoma Sawamura from Rival Schools, with a dash of Jill Valentine ala MvC 2. Golf clubs, baseball bats, zombies falling from the sky, and a super that starts with a Servbot helmet and ends in pure punishment.

A lot of it is made up of the moves Frank could pull of in Dead Rising as you level up, like swinging enemies around by their legs. Be sure to note the camp voice calls upon execution, like “Real Mega buster!” and “Deeeeead Rising!” during his Shoma-like home run attack.
